Roark Tech Services seeks a detail-oriented, organized and self-starting IT technician to join our growing team.  

In this position, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive technology support for our broad client base across multiple business segments. 

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in the IT field, is a polished individual with effective communication skills and takes ownership of problems to their resolution in a client facing position. 

 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assume the IT “point-of-contact" for one or more clients 

  • Respond to issues, problems and requests with alacrity 

  • Assist with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more  

  • Maintain systems from desktop PCs to networking connectivity, to servers and cloud instances, keeping them up-to-date, efficient and trouble free.   

  • Monitor networking equipment (Cisco) and servers  

  • Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features  

  • Monitor web performance, network availability, and security  

  • Oversee troubleshooting for system errors  

  • Provide help desk support 

  • Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed  

  • Respond to IT issues, hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.  

  • Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software  

  • Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.  

  • Set up equipment for new users  

  • Install, test, and monitor servers, firewalls, and new software  

  • Perform data backups  

  • Install and update network system improvements as needed  

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent  

  • Previous experience as a client-facing IT support technician  

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple issues independently and without supervision  

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently  

  • Willingness to adopt company policies and practices  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; articulate & well groomed 

  • Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment  

  • Goal-oriented team player who wants to participate in the company’s growth 

  •  Up-to-date knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades  

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment.
